Questions

What does Volet do on iPhone Duo?

Volet dresses all three faces of iPhone Duo with one piece: the cover you see when the phone is closed or standing, the open spread across the inner display and its crease, and the hinge, where blocks part, rise, settle, turn or drift as you fold. Wear one of eight examples or make your own from the time, the date, your words, your photos, a countdown, today's moon, shapes and your battery.

Does Volet change my wallpaper or Home Screen?

No. Volet works while it is open; iPhone Duo keeps the wallpaper and Home Screen to itself. Stand the phone on its edges with the cover facing out and Volet keeps the cover lit, like a clock on a desk or nightstand. You can turn this off in Settings.

Does Volet work on other iPhone models?

Yes. On other iPhone models you can design, preview and share pieces, and wear the open spread. Wearing a piece on the cover, and the hinge motions, need iPhone Duo.

How much does Volet cost?

Volet is free to download. Free: every example, every block and hinge motion, colours, gradients and photos, up to three pieces of your own, and sharing. The examples drawn in materials are free to wear too. Volet Pro adds as many pieces as you like, and the eight drawn materials and gold and stitched creases for your own pieces: $0.99 a month, $4.99 a year with a 7-day free trial, or $9.99 once. US prices; the App Store shows your local price.

How do I share a Volet piece?

Share it from its page or with the seal icon on the stage. Volet sends it as a small .volet file through Messages, Mail or Files, and it opens straight into Volet as one of your friend's pieces; on the free tier it counts as one of their three. Every piece you make carries your chop, a small cinnabar seal with your initials, and a piece made from another one keeps a credit to it.

Does Volet collect my data?

No. Volet has no account, no analytics, no advertising and no server. It uses the system photo picker, so it only receives the photos you choose, and Volet sends nothing anywhere unless you share a piece. Purchases are made and verified by Apple.
